I will be using this page in the future to explain some of the
mechanics in blowing glass art. Most asked question, " Do you like
it HOT?" YEAH! I AM A GLASSBLOWER, WE LIKE IT HOT!" It is a hot
job! Second question I get the most. "Do you ever get burned?
YEAP! We all do ever once in a while I have even caught a shoe on
fire once. "That is WHY I dance when I blow glass." "Glass
blowing is a great art. Some don't like to be hot and it is
hard work. However, it is creating something in the glass.
I look at the glass and try to decide what it is going to be when I
have just a bubble. I visualize elephants, vases, fish, bowls,
etc. Glass blowers think what colors would look good and
what they are going to make before it is anything but hot glass on
the end of a pipe. We see it in our mind and then create it.
I love to make special gifts. Ask me and I will make
something special for your loved one or a wedding. Last
wedding they are still talking about the custom bowl with a castle
and heart on it and the bride and groom's name. It was very
nice.
